Thank goodness an easy airport. Venice a/p is old, but still works. Reasonable walk to immigration, fast approval and transit to baggage claim. Truly, our bags were the first two down the Shute, thanks to Priority baggage stickers. Grabbed a cart, and just walked out. No green line, just the exit door! Exchanged the prepaid 3 day transit voucher for ...

It's the fashion capital, together with Paris, Florence, Milan, London....and VENICE. It's coming in a day or so, Enjoy!

... some of the shops that lined it, got back on a vaporetto and toured more of the canal. At 6PM, I had prearranged a group bar hopping tour with Alessandro Schezzini. We met couples from Buffalo, DC, Baltimore, and Tennesee. Two hours, three bacari (wine bars), lots of house wines, and five delicious cicchetti (Venetian appetizers) later, we were happy to call it a night. We had been up now for 34 hours straight and we desperately needed to SLEEP. Good night, ...

... I still don't know how they managed to build the place. Interesting that the city is sinking and during high tide most of the first floors of buildings get flooded. We had a walking tour first up where we saw some of the older buildings in the city. There are 12 leaning towers in Venice, just not as famous as Pisa. Because the sea bed is soft buildings are not that stable. Also they have to build buildings ...
