... outlying islands and others vary from an hour to a couple of hours. We didn't want to spend a whole day on the water so we went for a short cruise that would show us the main things. The main things being amazing caves, grottos and islands. We went fully into one grotto, I thought I was over my cave "thing", apparently it doesn't apply to grottos. Having just seen how huge chunks of the cliff face can fall ...

Our hotel is built inside the old citadel and there are many, many, steps down to the harbour, and many, many steps back up. it actually feels like twice as many with some vodka's and red wine your belt. ... top of the peninsula to a place called Baja Sardinia. Beautiful, just like every other place - but truly the provence of the rich and possibly famous. Roped off sections of beach, sun lounges for hire, the usual signs of exclusiveness!! But there are no high rises and the "resorty" stuff is small and only around small coves, it doesn't dominate the whole area, say like Surfers. This little part of Sardinia has been ...

... great seafood restaurant today - then to a lovely little beach for some relaxing and sun. I love that we have (so far) done three completely different things on this holiday. Lake Como was gorgeous - all beautiful BIG mountains, lakes, ferries and little villages, Tuscany, well, Tuscan, great food, picture postcard views, great wine, history..., and now Sardinia, different again, rugged mountains, beautiful azure blue ...
