      ... from afar and it lives up to that description up close too. We bought our tickets and went in to see: • The Old Royal Palace • The Basilica of St. George • Golden Lane, which is a street dating back to the 1500's. It was fascinating for the fact that it has preserved everyday life as it was then. The houses on the street were tiny, and generally only consist of an entry and one room. All up the houses would not have been bigger than 3x4 ...

      ... because as I said they only stop for a few minutes. So off we hop, only to see the train start moving again and disappear into the distance! Whoops! We had alighted at the equivalent of Papakura instead of Central Auckland. While pondering this in dismay, along came a local train bound for ........ Munich. So we hopped on that one quickly and arrived about 10 mins after the other one. I'm not sure what I put that one down to! I'll let you know what happens ...

      ... our excellent lunch (French Quiche with salad greens and a mint iced tea for me, and Breaded Chicken with mashed potatoes for Geoff... Oh and beer. And a glass of wine.       ... dumpling,pork and dumpling or fried cheese & chips., finishing off wit chocolate cake, and drinks, we shared our table wit an elderly gentleman who came from Amsterdam so we exchanged stories about our homes, places we visited - overal. A very enjoyable break to the day oh yes we were also served with choice of tea or coffee- Ronnie & I had the tea which was served in a little espresso cup which was smaller than the tea bag the served it with.
