... said that the springs weren't really that hot and that the water had a sulphuric yellow tinge that stained your bathers. So back to the boat for me, and I tread water whilst most hopped back up the ladder. The water in the Mediterranean is very salty, it was more like floating than treading water and a group of us just bobbled around near the ladder until it was time to get back on board to go. Glad I did the swim, as it was just great and cooling and ...

We headed to a monastery first. There were only a few monks left as they have had large radar towers erected beside their buildings and are concerned of possible health effects. ... a chicken vegetable soup with the very limited utensils we had in the room. I was quite proud of myself because there is only a medium size pot and portable stove, a knife (I bought from NYC) and cutlery. The soup was great because the produce around here is just friggin' awesome. Its hard to go wrong.

Another day not doing much in paradise.

      Ollie out.

... another language when we were at school.  Many people on the boat spoke two or more languages, and easily switched between the two as the occasion required. How much easier life would be with this advantage. Our first stop on the outing was to the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni. The significance of this area lies in the fact that it is the youngest volcanic landform in the eastern Mediterranean. It is an active volcanic centre with its oldest rock formations dating back 430 ...
