... the biggest, richest, most powerful mafia organisation in the world. We made our way to St Peters Sqaure, which was very large and very grand and very not square. There's a super large obelisk in the centre that was taken from Egypt and had some other interesting facts that I've managed to forget but all in the all the square, massive impressive, and probably a little intimidating. We joined the queue for the basilica which was just a security check, not a ticket line so it ...

... south. We viewed the "red beach" and then escaped the craziness of congested tourism by visiting the archeological museum of The Prehistoric City of Akrotiri -an excavation still in progress since 1967. It is covered by a new bio climatic shelter and it's explorations will take many years to complete. It really captured our uneducated imagination. Beginning in the Neolithic age, this site was destroyed by successive earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, only to be rebuilt again. ...

Got the tender to shore with Des and Shane, Sue sick with gastro today. Booked a speed boat ride to Oia and then a bus ride back to Fira, the capital of Santorini. Everything painted white with some blue. Very barren and hilly island. Walked down the street past all the tourist shops, didn't buy anything. Des wanted to have a souvlaki in Greece so we had lunch at a restaurant overlooking ...

... gravel up to the house in their packs, which they released with a rope and the loose gravel dropped out the bottom on the floor. It all made sense now. After a trek to the Cathedral it was back for a look see in the shops. I couldn't resist an item or two - a girl has got to have a souvenir! The last part of our port stop involved a ride on the cable car down the side of the mountain to the port. We had been warned those scared of heights should ...

Having an awesome time. Santorini is beautiful and very chilled - the perfect place to unwind.

      Highlights so far:

      Tranquilo Bar
      Beautiful Beaches
Cliff Jumping (Nicole 'ass slapper' and Ian 'belly flopper'. The cliff was only 8 metres
Sunset at Oia - thousands of people lined the walls to watch and then started clapping when it set (weird)
      Hike ...
