... many of the residence were torn from their homes and deported to German concentration camps. Few returned. Built in 1948 this memorial will serve as a reminder for years to come. I will always remember it situated beside its stunning lake a sad moment photographing but we have honoured and remembered those who died at the hands of the Nazis in camps. ... at the tiny village of saint Amour. A spectacular hotel with magnificent rooms. Ours faced on to the swimming pool and was very spacious. Hotel Auberge Du Paradise. Recommended. Swims for all - very hot. Dinner in Auberge restaurant. 7 course degustation. In a word, spectacular. Going Solo

... It was halal food and the stews were so good. One was lamb with lentils and the other chicken with olives, potatoes and carrots. So nice. I'm glad we found this place because its convenient and great winter food for my wife.

Nothing interesting otherwise except I noticed lots of police and more cameras whilst driving. I never really noticed them before, so I think its likely I probably have a bunch of speeding fines waiting for me...oh well.

... finished the food at the table (salad, soup, main dish, cheese, yogurt, and then dessert). After the meal, everyone sits in the salon again and chats some more. This dinner was very enjoyable and long and by the time we finally left, I was absolutely pooped.

Friday was one of the best days here yet, but I'll have to write about it in my next post as my parents are waiting for me at their hotel!
