... home at 3 in the morning and were decidedly second-hand the next morning.

So here we are in Avoriaz, the Christmas - New Year rush / panic / chaos has passed and we are finding our feet, after 4 weeks of really hard slog. It would be fair to say that it has almost beaten us and we have been ready to pack our bags. This life is much harder than Whanga, and the clients are something pretty special.

... did see her start to try a bit more, so she is starting to get the idea.

Matt and I went up the prarion and down the Chamois run together a couple of times and then headed off down to watch and pick up a happy Marni. We took off up the mountain again. Had 40 minute wait before our cabin booking for the trip to the top. At that point we had about another 20 minutes shuffling in a line, then about 30 minutes to the top, ...

Oops, no notes again! Refuge Elena quite new and modern. Large dorms but partitioned into bunks of 4. Located on a high ridge overlooking the valley, where we had a long break and arvo tea. Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...
