Paul's training has kicked in. The Ironman in Copenhagen is on 23rd August. Paul went up the valley this morning (on another beautiful day). We zipped to the weekend market and then headed off to Geneva to get a new rental car. We haven't found a car to buy yet, so need to take back our rental and exchange for a smaller version. Unfortunately the first rental car got dinged in the side (car park ding, we think). This ...

We finished another long day, from Champex, Switzerland. This is the northern most point on the TMB trail. About 3 hours into our hike, in the middle of a cow pasture high above the valley we encountered the Alp Bovine cafe! It was almost at the high point of our hike today. We had a sandwich and. Old drink there before continuing to Hotel De La Forclaz. The hike ...

We whipped out to Lac de Passy, which is the only swimming lake we have found (Laurant at the bank told us about this place). It was filled with locals and being Saturday there was extra activity. ...

... I bought was lait frais as opposed to lait crème and apparently that makes quite a difference. Initially thought the milk was off, but turns out it is meant to be like that! It is basically a milk version of crème fraiche or sour cream, and you can buy it by the litre. When we returned today to buy some more they had about 6 types of it, and 1 of lait crème. Go figure.

Well not sure how I can summarise today, it was truly absolutely amazing!! To put into perspective we went higher than Mt Fugi, the climb up to Aiguille Du Midi was fabulous. I was extremely apprehensive about going up didn't know how my lungs would cope, being 3842 m above sea level I knew they'd be battling a bit. We departed in a very large cable car what they call a gondola which holds 70 people, travels at 35 Kms per hour! ...
