After a coffee and a little asking around we decided to teach Gracie to say she was 3 years old and up we went! The kids were both affected by the 3800m altitude. They were unusually whiney and agitated and Gracie fell asleep while we were at the top. Admittedly it was also -3 degrees Celsius. Within minutes of getting back to the half station Mitch was ...

... falling today. There is a lot of compressed snow on the slopes which means when you start sliding it’s hard to stop. It’s quite disconcerting. You could end up a long way from your skis or – less likely but possible – hitting something.

I had a classic moment with another skier at the top of a slope today. I drew up and while I was looking down, perplexed, a young woman drew up and stopped. We exchanged ...

... and not the cliff-side, so it landed in the powder snow about 5m below us, with only the cord hanging out! There was no way any of us would be able to retrieve it, but we figured if we found someone with climbing gear they may be able to help us. Eventually we found a staff member who put on his crampons and climbing gear, abseiled down off the bridge and retrieved the camera for us. We were so very thankful (as the camera was FULL of photos from this incredible trip) that ...
