    My very last hike of holiday

    Today is the
    second last day of my holiday so I felt I should do a heavy hike as it is to be
    my last one. I’m now in a hotel in Megeve, a fairly upmarket village
    particularly in the ski season about 30 kms from Chamonix. It is also only an
    hour’s drive from Geneva which makes the return of my rental car on Sunday
    prior to joining my flight home that much easier.

I could see 3 ski lifts (1 ski lift & cable car on the peaks, operating till after 7pm last night) it's still light till late, so easy to keep exploring. This is one of the oldest ski resorts in France, it is amazingly beautiful, I'm going to need a wider range of adjectives on this trip as these will get worn out.
