... and around others, up one side, down the other. I was really impressed with the covered roads down the Alps on the Swiss side. Clearly it snows enough there for them to say "lets just put a roof over the road, that wound be nicer than clearing the road" We stopped in the little village of Martigny in the valley. The sign said on the way into town "The village of Art" Thinking it might just be a nice spot to stop, have some lunch, then head ...

      Day 7

Day 7 was one of the most memorable days of the trip. We drove to the city of Chamonix and took a couple of Gondolas up to the top of Mont Blanc for some incredible views. As we approached the peak of the mountain, everyone began to notice the altitude and how it effected us. Pretty much everyone got lightheaded. It was bearable but not comfortable after about a half hour on the mountain. On the mountain ...

After this lunch we went back to Geneva for another smaller tour with Emilie guiding us. We then ...

... them all !) The platform at 3,842 mtr is the highest point without climbing. To walk on the glass platform you first go thru dug out tunnels and ice cave tunnels. The feeling in my legs was shaking that lasted at least 1/2 hour. Imagine a roller coaster ride where u fall out and fly. All so strange but amazingly beautiful and I'm sure a never to be repeated experience. Over the day the temperature varied widely, ...

Today's our last day in Chamonix and no better way to say goodbye than by paragliding!! The sheet we have for our reservation says to wait in front of Mont Blanc. I did think it was weird since all the other paragliders were going off Le Brevent, but we will go by the sheet. The lady at the ticket office wouldn't sell us a lift ticket, because she says we have the wrong lift since you can't paraglide off it ...
