      I've been to a lot of ski towns in the Alps over the past five years and I must say the ski town of Chamonix was by far the best I've been to. I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about ski pistes. There were four ''domaines skiables'' and we haven't had time to explore all of them.       ... a basket of fruit...small bowls of jams, a jar of locally made honey, apple juice from the grapes they've grown. Anne had taken some eggs from their five chickens and hard boiled and dyed them. We thought she had used beet juice to dye them, but she said it was the juice of an insect...she didn't know the name in English. There, of course was fresh bread and it was all wonderful and delicious and had us fueled up for the day.
