We then walk down to the river to see the fountain with statues of three queens ( all naked) which caused uproar in the 19th century when it was erected! We are spared seeing Victoria in all her glory as the ladies have been clad in pink ribbon and the water tinged pink to support breast cancer awareness.

... by the time we arrive it has stopped raining so we walk down the short street from the church square where the shuttle stops towards the sea. The market is still opening up and we stop to talk very haltingly in school French to a beekeeper who is bringing honeycombs and equipment to the tourist information office to show how they extract the honey. He gives us some honeycomb to try,very sweet and VERY sticky!

Camped the night right along side the river. A group of Italians played accoustic guitar until the early hours and everyone sat out to enjoy the music.
Explored Bourg the next morning. Large Citadel located on the cliff top looking down on the river. Some amazing buildings which look as though they have just been taken out of Greece or Morroco and stuck here.
Onto Bordeaux tomorrow.
