    DAY 8

A travel blog entry by billyrubes on Mar 05, 2015

... or so. Not very busy as I walked in. Very cute waitress who didn't speak English, she got the guy who spoke English a little. Ordered salad with tomato and lettuce and mozzarella. And then spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil. Ordered a local beer too, good stuff. Cheaper than that imported ****. Came with lots of parm and pepper. Place got super busy by the time I left. Headed back to the hotel and slept like a ...

We woke to torrential rain. In fact much of the night was torrential rain so it was no surprise we were next to a very large puddle. After breakfast in the camp common room we were sent to Bages , a tiny village where, to our amazement, there was a bike shop with the right size tyre and inner tube for P&Ps tandem - phew! Then onwards for a day crossing the Medoc. The highlight ...

A slightly early start this morning - misreading of watch with backlighting got us up by 6.30! Impressive or what! 8.20 kick off and we shopping in Bordeaux by 10. Bouliac has an impressive shopping centre for all our food shopping requirements, a bike shop for Pat and Pam's overshoes, and a coffee brew up next to the shopping centre car park! We had a smooth journey through Bordeaux before lunching by a lake whilst the tents dried. ...

Open fields and pines along the French coast line of the Atlantic Ocean. Typical colonial farmer towns of the country side and once at the beach, boulevards, cafes, shops, restaurants, and infinite beach breaks, some better than others. A relaxed surfers paradise for a retirement future plan. People here are respectful, conscious about the environment and aware of their surroundings, just a couple of things that doesn't click yet; they don’t ...

A short days ride, a mere 63 miles though our stokers both thought we had done about 100 miles! After a quiet night, with just one animal intruder rummaging through our rubbish we set off without coats for the first time in days. After meeting alarge group of youngsters on their bikes we passed them twice to numerous bonne jours and tenez a droits! After shopping and ...
