Another travel day from Bordeaux to Rennes. Rennes is heading west and close to the west coast. The reason for going to Rennes is it is about an hour away from the famous Mont Saint Michel, and has a dedicated direct bus.
It was such a nice sunny day and the lovely green countryside made the time pass quickly. I arrive into Rennes about 5.30pm and head to my accommodation.

Annie picks us up at 7pm on the nail.

We start off with the usual half dozen Ricards to whet the whistle.
To begin with Isobel serves up 'Halloween soup' made with pumpkins from the garden, carrots, potatoes and onions (I think). Fabulous on its own. She didn't give us any bread so we wouldn't pig out. (Don't know why she would think ...

Departed Sarlat about 9.30 am and spent the best part of the next 8 hours or so getting to Rennes, approx 570 Klms north of Sarlat.

Had our first taste of Toll fees on the A84, €14.50 for a stretch of about 100 Kim's, it was worth it to zip along at 130 kph for a while.

Once we arrived in Rennes dumped our gear at the hotel and went for a 2 Klm walk into town to stretch the legs after being in the car for so long. Back to the hotel and had a quiet ...

          Today was Friday Sept 4

This is our last full day here at the house. We had already made arrangements to go back to the French friend of our friend for the Internet. Her husband, is home today so we park on the dead end. The dogs come to greet us, all three of them. I have bought snacks for the dogs but only Grommit likes them and takes them. The other dog takes one and goes and gives it to Grommit. How funny.

          ... at finding antiques.

We drive to Rochefort en Terre next which has been described as really picturesque. It truly was. Again, managed to find a parking place but a lot of guess work on which way to drive and where to park as a lot of one way and very narrow streets here. We parked right across from the old church so we went in there first and had a look around then we walked to the upper street. As it was just past noon, all the shops were closed. So ...
