A midday dock today so plenty of time to enjoy the delights of the ship this morning. We've taken to breakfasting at the back of the ship and its virtually our own private balcony. It's maybe a new tradition. This morning was exceptionally good as we saw 2 whales playing, clear as a bell near to the ship. Bit to quick for the camera unfortunately so lots of pictures of the sea, but the pictures are there in our heads. We moved on to the front of the ship for ...

We had a lovely day of driving this beautiful island. I do think it is by far one of the prettiest islands we have seen. It's very mountainous and everything after that is seascape and beautiful beaches. We'll climb to over 3,000 feet elevation, and in 10 minutes we are at a beautiful beach.

Our hotel was O.K. for the night. It wasn't what we had expected, but I don't think there was much choice for this area, and they ...

It's been a great day. We will probably walk into town later tonight for dinner. It all depends on if it's pouring or not. Like I've said before these last two islands are more resort islands than we had imagined. So, we aren't getting much exercise but truly enjoying the ...

... viewing the jellyfish that were sheltered in one of the coves. It included a stop at a local beach which looked rather gray and rocky compared to Grand Bend. The tour would have been perfect if only the boat captain (and tour guide) had spoken some English! After our return, we had a picnic lunch overlooking the water in Porto. To wear off some of our lunch we hiked up the hills to the Genoese tower that overlooks Porto, to have a beautiful view of the town. Peter ...

... today and our destination - Bastia to catch the ferry back to mainland Italy in the morning. Our hotel - Le Forum - looks about the same vintage as the Forum in Rome but is clean and central to the port. Our walk down to the port to collect our ticket for the ferry opened up a part of Bastia that we did not know about from our hotel. The large square down by the port was busy with Saturday afternoon family time. Children were playing soccer and ...
