Another long bus ride, but the lovely green scenery made the time pass quickly. The bus company i used this time is punctual, and arrives on time.
The first day out starts out as a lovely day, so plenty of walking to be done. Bordeaux is so different to Lyon. The buildings seem to be a lot older. I am impressed at what i see, and the more i explore the more impressed i am. It is a very low rise city due to the weakness of the subsoil. The ...

... We saw the Garonne way back at Moissac, when we were walking by the canal, and it was the river beside Auvillar, but now it is enormous! And tonight, after calling back at the hotel to change and drop our purchases, we went out to a fantastic brasserie that Amr had read about and been recommended. Another quite long walk - Amr announced that we had walked 20 kms today round the city, so I guess our legs don't really know that we have finished our real ...

... room to do so. The kitchen was really nicely set up. They had big bouquets and baskets of flowers throughout the rooms that made it all look really nice too. We went through the chateau, across the other side. You had to take a ticket on leaving the chateau on the other side of the river so you could come back in. I guess people walking on the other side try to use it as a bridge but you have to have paid to be able to walk through it.

        We walked through ...

... but he ate it anyway. After lunch we went back to the hotel, where I used their computer to print our boarding passes, then chilled in the room and played some guitar. Eventually, around dinner time, we all got some motivation up and walked into the city and to the Indian restaurant, Maharaja, again. We sat downstairs, then changed to upstairs cos it was so hot, then had another amazing dinner there. After dinner we said goodbye to our new buddies, who had been quite happy to see us ...
