... gave us brilliant views of the surrounding countryside, hilltop towns, and Chateaus. It was perfect for the kids to run, play and explore the many topiary mazes. We also visited the ancient caves along the river where people have lived since cro magnon through to the renaissance. ... it to work so a young woman came in & she helped but she couldn't speak English at all & we couldn't speak French but eventually between us we worked out that the machine was another different kind of washing machine. When we tried to get the clothes out we couldn't because the door had locked so then we had to do a whole new wash again before we could get them out. That all happened so we then put the dryer on. She of course had no English and due to Helen's many French lesson and Terry's uncanny natural ability they were able to explain that we were I fact lost and needed a No no no ...but I will take you the 6 km required to get you back on the track. Last Day in France

Well...last day today. We got an earlier start today and made our way to the subway station. We took the subway (and only took the wrong subway once) to a different area of Lyon called "Croix-Rousse". We did some sightseeing and shopping, checked out the markets in the morning then had lunch at a wonderful little cafe.
