We are tied up in this town and presently about 45 minutes from Dinner. Today was a wonderful day, especially with the return of my iPad. We did a walking tour of the town and saw many Roma ruins and in particular a Temple built for Augustus Livia. Apparently this is one of only two in France, the other being in Nemes. We also saw the Church and Museum of ...

Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. We all tried some new and interesting things like duck, cheeses and quenelle. Lots of others out enjoying the night too. Full and ready for ...

... an unexpected night of DANCING!! After dinner, Karaoke ensued! Mathew (the best Tauck guide ever) convinced Aunt Melissa, Gretch, and I to sing "Dock of the Bay" with him! Very very fun! Then, after all the little kiddo's sang pop songs with lyrics that made mom and and Aunt Melissa die laughing due to ridiculousness!

I hit the pillow exhausted and happy!

A few more pics from the day!

... towards the center of town. Our first encounter was with an older woman, whose parlance, affected by an odor of Vin Rouge and a lack of teeth, made her French unintelligible to Peter's elementary understanding of the language. We progressed onward to the next sign of life in this small village: a pizza closet. Inside, Peter tried, in his best high school French, to ascertain the existence, and if so, the direction to, a hotel ...
