Today was eventful yet relaxing. We just walked around this town that had tons of history and shops and was just great. I bought some new jeans and a shirt and found some things that i only wish i had the money to buy! We got a can of Dr. Pepper, which you can't find anywhere by the way, for 2 euros which is like $3.50 or something. Karen keeps getting ...
Perigueux, Aquitaine, France invisibleclea... i have no concept of time. I have no clue what day or time i'm in and i only have internet in the office, so i'm back in this room being rude and posting pics. I miss everyone! But, i'm not quite homesick yet. Had another get home cooked meal tonight and they had a friend over. She was hilarious. She's gonna be watching their son while we are in Paris along with doing a few other ...
Bergerac, Aquitaine, France invisiblecleaWell it's finally happened! I'm in France! After 10 hours of 3 flights and an hour drive, i'm in my new residence and have been fed to the max. A home cooked meal was certainly what i needed after all the **** i consumed on the flights. I'm surrounded by endless grape vines and amazing scenery. It's like 70 degrees here and so nice. The house i'm staying in is from the 1500's and it ...
Bergerac, Aquitaine, France invisibleclea... along with planting and tending a large vegetable garden It's an impressive feat, and far from the relaxing retirement most people plan when they settle in France in their sixties. There's still a long list of jobs to be done, but it's coming along very nicely, and I think they had earned a few days off!
I met a few of their ...

Well we originally had planned to leave fairly early in the morning but these plans were destroyed by not being able to part with the swimming pool and spending time kicking the hacky sack with Winston (who turns out to be a football legend). We finally left around 6pm. Cycled a few miles, found a nice wood and slept in just the inner sheets of the tents. The sky was so clear you could see the milky way. Although not luxurious, this was certainly a paradise.
... a swimming pool, a table, and most importantly a shower waiting for us was more than a highlight.
After showing twice we had a quick look around the house we got to stay in for free, courtesy of Alex's parents (Diane and Chris) and their friends (Winston and Linda). The place was truly amazing and after a huge meal (with plates!) we retired stunned by the generousity of our ...
... I am very happy he did. Oysters for starters, delicately fried, in some wonderful stuff. Ah, I won't go over the rest, too complicated and a fair amount to drink - you'll just have to take my word for it, it was excellent. The wines matching perfectly. The dessert wine, I'm beginning to acquire a taste for that, a Sauternes 1979, tasted so heavenly, I indiscreetly wondered outloud what one might pay for it in a restaurant, as I ...
Hautefort, Aquitaine, France katherine-anne... br>Next was a trip up to Bordeaux where we met with Emma. Spend the next few days around the coast south of here including the biggest sand dune in Europe. Really good.

... d try some of their local cheeses and everyone was helping us with our French and being so nice and then we just sat down to eat and random people would just walk past and say: "Bon Apetit Madame-Monsieur", oh how cute. The French are so social and public, definitely not as rude and arrogant as people make them out to be (except a couple of instances).
Perigueux, France jess85... We got off the French train for a few hours by going to an Italian restaurant to eat good, healthy and hang-over fixing pizza. We stuffed ourselves, well all of us except Rachy who wasn't on top form. We were very lucky, during our time in France to meet lots of new people and for Emma to get to know some old friends better. While we could go on for a while, these are some of the people we met and we have tried to add photos of the various people. There were, of ...
