... IKEA on our holidays! We arrived at Ploumanac'h at around 1pm. It is a very charming seaside town that reminded John very much of the Cornish towns that he used to visit as a child. It was also nice and quiet as we are visiting off-season, with the French having different half term dates. We ate in a nice restaurant, where Emily was a hit with one of the waitresses who kept bringing her little treats as the meal progressed. Getting excited by ...

The center is an excellent resource for Canada's war effort in World War Two with an obvious focus on the D-Day landings. ...

Wrapping it up at the beach

... Many soldiers were killed in these gliders upon landings due to the basic crash of the glider or German defenses. After walking around the town, I grabbed a late lunch of fish and chips with a British couple that had just opened up a restaurant. They were one of the only restaurants open, but they were very nice and I had a great talk with them about world politics, restaurants and my trip. I’m planning on making a return trip to Normandy ...
