    We started the day off strolling through Caen's abbey and castle--the abbey was beautiful, very similar to Notre Dame. We ate Clemson-colored macaroons and other pastries while staring at it! I'm starting to discover that a whole load of sugar for breakfast does not keep one hungry for long…oh well!

    Today we decided to head off to see what is know as the pink granite coast. It is called that due to the pink granite stones which, during sunset, glow a mysterious shade of pink.     ... on a HA organised tour. A free shuttle service into town, maps, and stalls on the quay were all provided. We wandered down the rue Siam, through a local Sunday market, across the Recouvrance drawbridge and ate moulles and frites with stout (Dave) and cider(Judy) for lunch at the quay.
