    ... very worried about me. They said that I looked ill, and I really, I was. Being in direct sun that long, even with my hat, makes me feel very sick. Yet, there’s no escaping the heat with iced tea and air conditioning. There’s nothing to do but drink lots of water and keep walking. So, that’s what I did.

    ... people to another part of the building and found the reason for all the cars. They had a `stubl' where you could get cheap Sunday lunch, and about 500 people were already indulging. Roast belly pork, sauerkraut, and large pretzel for 11 euros for both meals. We then forced down a damfknodel - large flavoured dumpling about the size of a housebrick - and custard for another 4E. They even had a Bavarian band playing.

    We'd been looking for accommodation in Avignon for a few days before, but nothing was really coming up and when we arrived we figured out why - there was an arts/theatre/comedy festival on and there were people (and advertising posters) everywhere.     ... You apparently need to book 1 week in advance for this place but luckily there was a table free. The meal was amazing! It was a designer style meal but it was really good. I had salmon wrapped in prosciutto with a prawn inside, Thai green soup and some greens, not a lot on the plate but the flavours were really good.
