... I mention the dessert of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and hot raspberry sauce - OMG - to die for!!!!

Then we waddled back to the accommodation telling ourselves that we can't keep eating like this. Truth is, we sort of say this every day. Thanks for the comments from those that do. For those that don't, your off our Xmas card list LOL.

... neat as Rothenburg or Bernkastel. We walked the cobble-stoned streets before heading back to Lahr and an attempt to find the old Canadian casserne we I worked during both of my stays in Lahr (1978-80 and 1988-91). We found it but the light was not good enough for pictures. Tomorrow before we depart Lahr, we will stop by for some photos.

... was superb but it was getting on an we thought we would try to get to Obernai, a very quaint town some 32 km south-west. The long and the short of it was that we got there after dark and try to find a pension in the dark in a town crawling with - you guessed it - those damned tourists!!! We tried a few other nearby towns but alas gave up in frustration and headed for ...

... there it was closed. Back to Brig and taking the car-train at the Lotschberg Tunnel and on to Grindelwald for the night. Unfortunately the clouds were hanging low over the mountains so we couldn't see the tops.
Maybe tomorrow we might see Jungfrau and or the Eiger, a 13,000ft mountain overlooking the village.

... There were a lot of stops along the way with scenic overlooks, hiking spots and restaurants. We had a German lunch of bread and sausage at the cafe next to Lake Mummelsee, and did a short 2 km hike on a trail leading to a waterfall.
