... because the hill was sortof steep and had a curve at the bottom, but a nice French lady helped get my ski poles back to me and I was off again without further complications. A white Christmas is what we ultimately left London dreaming of. The local ticket inspector in Grenoble calling it quits on our planned day of travel (naturally) and all subsequent trains being cancelled definitely challenged the dream.
