    Day 2, Chatillon to Blasé

A travel blog entry by barbara.goodall on Jun 09, 2015

Again a chilly morning, and we started cycling along the banks of the Soane river. Very pretty. Farmland with Charilais cattle. Lunch was a picnic on the banks of the Soane. Lovely setting. After lunch we followed the banks of the river for several kms, sometimes quite rough terrain. Crossed the Soane into the Beajolais region and a longish hill climb to our village of Blase. We were not sure how far we would cruise today as we had a few options available but in the end decided not to go all the way to Chalon sur Saone, one of the bigger towns we pass through. That would have been a 40K trip and would have cut into our drinking time this ...

... I am sorry I have to take a break from doing this daily ships log entry as the mutinous river trash I have as a crew are making threatening gestures about how I might like a little dip in the putrid drain that serves as the French canal! Now back to ships log. The primary task of the break was to break the seal on a 5 litre cask of Chateau Cardboard, vintage French Rose. Spirits are now riding high among the crew and the galley contingent ...
