... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.
Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.
We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.

The descents were frightening and bloody cold, especially from the top of Col de Beau Plan with visibility at about five metres above 1000m. It was a bit of a shock when a deer darted out in front of me. I had my full winter gear on and it was barely enough.
We are off for dinner soon in St Michel then tomorrow two TDF climbs are on the agenda.
... a great place to base so when we come back again that would be my choice. Our hotel has Col markers for sale of the famous climbs, I was quickly told by the manager that I have to earn them before purchasing. Oooh! very protective of their little markers.
On the plus side the weather will improve over the next two days and feel more like summer again by Sunday. Too wet to do much except wash the bike and polish off a bottle of red tonight.

... laughing. The guy said quietly that he now understood that there was a difference between Canadians and Americans that was not unlike that of North Belgians and Netherlanders, who also share the same language. It was pretty funny.
Outside it had been raining since we got to the restaurant, but we managed to catch a break and got back to the hotel between raindrops. The weather notwithstanding, we had a pretty good time today and the photo ops were amazing.
... the car to see the local sites, but first we had to gas up...or rather diesel up. we got to an Agip station but couldn't find diesel, which seemed odd. They had petrol, another pump called gazole, and something else called diesel-supreme which was outrageously priced and therefore couldn't be diesel. The lady at the casse confirmed that gazole was in fact diesel. Now why is it that in every country in Europe they call it diesel but the French have ...
