The museum was very interesting and informative.

We then entered the original village which is a very sobering experience. Everything has more or less been left as it was after the massacre became known to the world. There are burnt out and rusted cars in the streets and in garages. The bakers shop still has rusted scale ...

... fine meal...although tipping is not expected in France, we did leave the family a little something to thank them for the unique experience!)

The chateau is perfectly situated for day trips so tomorrow we will be off to the Venise Vert and Ile de Re...more on that later! For now, back to languishing in the romantica room with a glass of champagne in hand, la-di-da!

... was an experience cause the elevator or "lift" as they call it was very tight with 6 of us. It got stuck between floors and made some jarring movements and the doors wouldn't open. Cindy gets claustrophobic but I think we all were for a minute while the lift slowly descended to the lobby. Finally the doors open and then we all laughed nervously knowing we were safe. Guess they meant six midgets! ...

Time for tea and guess what – we have an Aussie type Sports Bar for backpackers just around the corner, to which for a good % of our trip we went for tea. Some of us had steaks, others fish, but it was a timely reminder of home. Unfortunately the noise was a little loud for my taste but it was great atmosphere all the same.
