... adventure in food though. I left my hotel around 1pm cuz the museum I was visiting didn’t open till 2pm. I wandered around for 45 minutes hoping to find a place that sold sandwiches so that I could easily snag one and find a place to eat. Unfortunately, they were all closed. So, finally I found a Bistro and screwed up my courage. Communicating over food is much more difficult than one would imagine. Anyway, in I go and I immediately realize that I am too underdressed for ...

... oozing from every stone as you walk through it. It’s a city that was largely unmarred by the many many wars that affected France. The streets are there, not for cars but for feet (pic 7) and the idea of driving in this city is shunned by many but not all. We are parked by a river at the side of an abbey when we arrived ...

... the little villages tend to slow you down a bit. After booking into our hotel we found a Laverie down the road and managed to complete all the laundry requirements. After we strolled around Poitiers for a while, mainly the shopping area, which is quite big and very clean. It was pleasant to walk without the hustle and bustle of the larger cities.

Picked up some supplies for lunch on the road tomorrow and back to the hotel for a hot shower and a reasonably early night.
