... to scores of hippies flocking here in the late 60's to take up rent free residence in the caves used for burials in Roman times.
We parked at the beach, there were a couple of other tourist cars parked, but no sign of the hippies, we were expecting groups of wrinkled faces with grey ponytails to be here!

... of wire fencing, In one place the road sign was covered with snow and we took the wrong turn, realising we stopped to reverse, suddenly there was a very loud rumble followed by an even louder crashing sound! A load of snow had fallen off a roof onto Dream Catcher, luckily we were unscathed. ... parking area we parked and walked the rest of the way by the side of the river. The cliff sides had large holes worn into them where the water had been thousands of years ago, it was quite impressive. Even on foot we still had to duck under branches and reeds bent over into short tunnels. As we neared the end of the canyon we turned around and retraced our steps. ... 7 O'clock, we hung the nearly dry washing around where we could inside and decided a quick standby tea was in order, we keep a jar if pasta sauce for just these occasions, unfortunately I knocked it off the worktop and it smashed onto the floor splattering everywhere with tomato sauce, our 'last resort' tea was put into operation, soup and sandwich. ... military base. One of these buildings has been converted into a large aquarium attraction. The write up says that it's excellent. A stray dog decided to follow us and it took us ages to persuade him to go away. Back at dream catcher we did some blogging as the weather deteriorated into snow and hail storms.
