... not what I was expecting. This is what I get for not doing my research. Whilst sitting in the garden, I tried to call the airline about my bag...again! Still no luck. Got into a ripping argument with the agent, which didn't move my bag from De Gaulle, but I did find out that my bag took a detour to Frankfurt. ... off after all the dramas already (not to mention it was starting to rain pretty heavy by now) we seeked shelter in a McDonald's and had an espresso (we needed it) and a macaroon for 1 euro!! However, this was basically the end to Paris dramas and although we got fairly soaked walking through Paris (with a broken umbrella) we headed up to the top of the Arc de Trimophe (and only had to queue for 15 minutes) for an awesome view of Paris and then went to a busy Irish pub ...
... of hours would give me the idea and I could say I've been to the Louvre. It's a pretty amazing place, paintings and sculptures by Botticelli, Van Gough, Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, Donatello, so many great names, and most of them older than settled Australia. It was particularly interesting to see paintings of Mary and other women from centuries ago posing and openly breastfeeding their babies. I should tell you about the cup and ball performers that me and Nim are obsessed with and infuriated by and watch for ages every time we see them. ... headed back and grabbed a burger for me since I was hungry. We ended up getting lost. A nice guy stopped to help us but he admitted himself he was slightly drunk so I think he pointed us the wrong way. Finally finally we made it back to the hostel and fell right asleep.
