... Second challenge was in checkin queue. The woman in front had 44kg of luggage and was trying not to pay for it. She had books out, stuff strewn everywhere, suitcase open, in an attempt to decrease weight. But woman behind counter was wise to her and got her to weigh her handbag. The negotiations continued. Saved by the woman on the next counter. And there is another side saga here. . . . ...

... forward to see you in Dunsborough in early Jan. Her charm somehow managed to get the check in dude to allow her on a twin propeller plane with 35kg of checked luggage and 3 hand luggages - awesome skills. Hope the flight was OK. From the airport we went to Miniature Swiss World, which was surprising fun, with Railways, boats, planes etc. Seeing it is so expensive in Switzerland, we can now say that we have seen most of the place in 1:25 scale. From there working our way back to the channel coast over 4-5 days. All fine and jalopy holding up so far - touch wood. Love to you all again. ...

You really 'Orta' come here if you can! It's really beautiful with lots of character and interest. We successfully caught the ferry and visited the Isola (Island) di San Giulio first although I got in the way of the captain on landing causing a slight problem with the ropes so not exactly endearing myself to him. The island itself consists of a central monastery inhabited by nuns ...

... depicting St Gulius ridding the island of snakes and dragons before building the church in the 4th century. The church was later rebuilt and expanded in the 12th century. Nowadays it is home to 65 cloistered nuns who only come out once a year to celebrate the work of St Gulius. This was when Gilberto and his friends bought Guilio the sheep this year, and how Guilio got his name! After walking around the island we sit in the sun waiting for the boat to come back. I ...
