... br>So, this church has about 50 people. They are so loving and accepting. I totally feel the love of God through these people. I can understand almost all of what the preacher says (if i really really focus) the music is great.
They have also asked me to pray about leading a women's class (with a translator of course) I ...
... ones she was going to put in it was too ugly for me. She is so sweet. She is doing everything she can to help me. It is in a safe part of town, and is closer to downtown. Now it will take me about 10 min. to walk to church and school. =) I am SUPER excited. Can't wait to finally cook for myself again. =) I really miss it. Oh, and it is big enough that I can have the whole 20 people over from my SS class. =) So, that is all. DON'T WORRY. I am doing great, and I LOVE MEXICO.!!!!!!! =)
... like me, it is obvious, but after that, his whole demeaner changed. IT was aweosme. Maybe I don't have to have "the talk" with him after all. Please pray for his salvation, and for strong Christian men to come into his life. I CAN'T WAIT TILL I CAN DO MY TESTIMONY PERFECT IN SPANISH. This type of interaction is what keeps me going. I love it, I thrive off of it. It is such a rush to know he is more than likely thinking of it right now as he is walking home. PLEASE PRAY.
Guanajuato, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico heidishappening... a Primera Plus express bus that was leaving in ten minutes. I felt very smooth!
As seems to be my lot in life, there was a young man firmly ensconced in my window seat; this time, happily clicking his pointy, white shoes together on the foot rest. Instead of looking for the conductor as I would have done in other times, I just (with gestures) told the said young man that he was in my seat. He protested at first but I remained firm and eventually moved over ...
... gorgeous little boy, Daniel. Conversation was limited since I speak so little Spanish and they speak so little English, but the music was loud anyway, and the energy was warm and friendly.
The next morning, Daniel drove me through a maze of tunnels (a former mine) to Guantajuato. It's world heritage site, so much of the old hispanic architecture is beautifully preserved or restored. It's easy to see why it's such a popular tourist destination.
... me realize that this was where God wanted me this summer. He's given me peace in this place and friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime. I don't know if I'll write again before leaving or not, however I just want to say thanks for reading my blog and praying for me along the way! Keep praying for this week, that I can continue to do God's will as my trip comes to an end. See you all soon (at least those of you near Wadsworth...)
... fun house to live in. oh--- and the annoying Benjamin who I mentioned earlier. Everything here is so different. I can already say I am going to loose some weight with all the walking. Our house is located at one of the highest points in the city. Going to town is not a big deal- but I tell you walking back is an effort. The roads are soo steep and narrow-barely enough room for a small car to pass.. but believe me the people ...
Guanajuato, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico danielasnyderMalin and I woke up at 5:30am in San Felipe to see the beautiful sunrise over the Sea of Cortez...a special treat to see for us "west-coasters", who are so often spoiled with just a single choice. By the time we had the bike packed up, gassed up, and on the road, it was 7:00am, and about 90 degrees. I was pouring sweat! Our original destination called for about 50 miles of asphalt south to the town of Puertocitos, where the asphalt would ...
Bahia de Los Angeles, Mexico jessandmalin... back to protect him from the bullets and then proceeded to set light to the wooden gates into the building. This allowed the rebels to enter the building and ensure the first major victory in Mexico's War of Independence. In 1864 it served as a prison for a hundred years before becoming the museum. Nowadays we could see various exhibits relating to the mining, the battle for independence and other historical events up to the 1960's. It was quite interesting ...
Guanajuato, Mexico mikeandmary... transport (no woo hoo there), I've been called 'Whitey' (Warrita) an awful lot, I've had men beep at me as I walk down the road and had people stare at me as though I were from another planet. All of this because I'm a little bit pale and blonde. Where's the law against being racialist to Diana's in Mexico Mr Tony Blair, hmmm? Answer me that! I've been salsa dancing in Guanajuato, which is a very pretty little town. Its a bit of a Mexican ...
