We have to get all the right maps, so D will be off doing that this week too.
I already have 2 sponsors in the US, and hopefully, there will be a few in the UK. E-mails to my non-work contacts are in order, I think.

1 Jahr Südamerika, jetzt ist es fast soweit. Nur noch 3 wochen bis zum Start.
Das meiste, bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten, ist erledigt. Die letzten 3 Tage habe ich mir ne Homepage zusammengebastelt(www.halfcap.de), ich kann nicht glauben das es Menschen gibt, die das zu ihrem Beruf machen. Auf meiner Homepage findet Ihr einen Link zu diesem Blog, ein Fotoalbum und Gästebuch.
Also, 1 Jahr Südamerika wartet auf mich ...

... talked story and it was nice to relax and sleep in a bed that wasnt in a hostel.
Day 22: In the morning Antje, her sister and her niece drove me up to a beautiful view over Sauerland called Faulebutter. In the evening we then met up with Antje's friends and had dinner and then went to a lake and spent the evening talking and hanging out...

Another foggy morning, and I really do not want to leave. However, we are off. Me back to Houston, Claudia back to work. A big resounding "BOO" from both of us! Germany was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone ---> great food ...

... which was very deceiving - it served Mexican food. I was expecting Cuban . . . haha oh well! We didn't eat any food anyway - too much Schwarzwelderkirsch . . . we just had some drinks. Er, they had some drinks, I had one and a half. I knocked one of the drinks all over me and my new shirt. Not necessarily the "Euro Look" I was going for. A fun night, but now it is getting ever so close to the goodbyes.

... t too exciting, but it was nice to be doing normal day-to-day things with Claudia - pushing the shopping cart around, picking out what you want for dinner. Much better than online chatting . . .
Claudia made some goulash with pasta for dinner (YUM!) and I started to organize my things for the trip back. We realized that two weeks had gone by far too quickly. Tomorrow will be a day in Paderborn!!

What a long trip. Claudia and I were supposed to arrive in Paderborn around 14.00 in the afternoon, but our flight (City-Hoppers as they are called in Germany) from Frankfurt was canceled due to mechanical difficulties with the plane. So after our 10 hour flight we got to sit in the airport for seven more hours until 19.00 when the next flight to Paderborn took off. We managed to find a quiet spot upstairs where there were enough ...

... climbing hills! In Hilchbach I find my way to a Youth Hostel, no beds available, but no problem all I would like is a shower and a place to pitch my tent. Not done normally but the owner seems to like me, so all good. That evening is spend with a German couple and the owner and a bottle of fine wine, not bad after a day of hard work ;-))

... It was really nice to meet the family, even though, I don't know or understand any German they were very hospitable! We spent two days in Koln or Colonge sightseeing. It was really nice town with a massive cathedral. It has some great views of they city from the top of the 502 stairs to the top of the spire. It was hard work to get to the top, but going down the spiral staircase was even more difficult because it made me so dizzy!
