      Come to Como

... Then up the funicular to the mountain overlooking Como, not happy with view at that height we decide to walk up to the lighthouse. Snow covered following last weeks cold blast we make our way up - a long way - finally arriving at 'the lighthouse'. The view was spectacular, well the view as best it can be here with quite dense haze/smog. We could see the water but sadly the Swiss Alps, whilst could be seen, were blurry. (Switzerland is ...

      Sparkling Lights in Lugano

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      Milano, Milano

After our long trip from Chamonix we arrived pretty late in Milan. Even though our hotel was off the main circle we were able to spend that night near Duomo thanks to tram line 14. I can't even begin to explain how breathtaking Duomo is. It's truly one of the best churches I've ever seen and I'd strongly recommend you to see it at night. It's honestly stunning, the crown jewel of Milan.   The inside however wasn't as nearly good as ...

... The Older church is no longer used but well maintained. It has exposed original mosaic flooring in places and frescos cove parts of the walls,. Some of these are in fairly good condition. There is a large wooden cross on one wall with somewhere below it where the locals can light a candle. It turns out that this is the Baptistry of the Newer church. The newer church next door is very ornate. A man is playing the organ so we do not take any photos or stay long. The TD ...

Learning to ride a bike in Robecco

... navigated my way following the guidance of those in front of me. I started to feel confident, so long as I don’t need to stop or turn. Unfortunately, we came to an intersection where we must take heed. I anticipated the stop and squeezed the brake slowly. All was fine but the gaps in the traffic were short, and I was inefficient at propelling the bike into motion. I skittishly made my way across the road. When we finally made it to our destination, Vale and EJ ...
