    Canoeing on the lake

A travel blog entry by johncowell on Aug 07, 2015

Today Ruth and I took a canoe on the lake. We wanted to explore it more close to the coast. It was great fun apart from the burden on your shoulders. After an hour of paddling, our shoulders and forearms were worn out. We then had a relaxing afternoon by the pool, followed by a last supper at home before moving on to ...

Lisa and Ruth found all the jewellery shops - we also frequented a few makeup and granita shops. We had a lovely afternoon wandering in the sun. The hire company had given us a map with suggested routes for our time in the lake. We decided to ...

Once in Italy, we quickly moved to the flat valley floor with the Italian Alps surrounding us. The villages weren't the same Swiss chalets we had been seeing all day and seemed somehow more Mediterranean. We passed one lake that was very flat with a busy town surrounding it...although the buildings ...

... of the Duomo. The amount of people astonished us, (we estimated 50K), but apparently, according to the front desk receptionist at our hotel, this was not an unusual happening. Attempting to beat the huge crowd to the metro, we hopped on and made our way back to the hotel. After a long day, we quickly got ready for bed and headed off to sleep, as we have an early morning ahead of us. Tomorrow is our last full day in Milan, we will update you about our happenings soon! ...
