... kind, but the surroundings are so filthy that you don’t want to touch anything. It also tends to be that the most expensive lodgings are the least welcoming, while those who ask for little, give a lot. Good or bad, I have many valuable experiences that have opened me to both the graciousness of some and the meanness of others, and, in a way, I am thankful for both.

... shower and cried a bit. I was tired, I missed home, and my knees pained me from sitting in one place so long. I called Josh, who cheered me up, and I went to bed feeling better.
I hope that I have more trails like the one I had today but with much shorter evenings. It’s not easy staying up past midnight night after night and then waking at sunrise.
