Caught a bus from Bouisset to Castre because I had hurt my foot so I met up with Peter and Sam in the afternoon. Wandered around Castre, sampling the patisseries. It was a cold, windy day a taste of the weather to come. I lit a candle at the church which surprisingly. was heated so quite inviting. Went to see a Goya exhibition and the gardens designed by Louis the fourteenth's gardener. Was good to be a tourist for the ...

Eventually on the ferry at Dover on October 4th enjoying the usual crossing, with champagne, shopping at Auchan in Calais and overnighting at Wissant. Was pretty excited and even ended up saying 'les moutons, les moutons'. I guess being a kiwi, sheep are kinda like a sense of home. The meeting place was Lac de Saint ferréol which is a man mad reservoir. It was too windy to eat there so we drove an extra 8 km ...

... joined us for dinner. This time we were treated to a local delicacy of duck cassoulet. The kids will tell you that this is one of the best meals they have had and Roy has firmly declared that duck is his third most favourite meat after chicken and sausages.

After a wonderful day we returned home very full and satisfied. It was a late night and we didn't get home until after midnight so we think tomorrow will be a very lazy day at home.
