Woke up early and had a cafe and apfel streusel and drove to Hohwnschwangan to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein. The longer we drove, the larger and more breathtaking the mountains became. Just outside of Hohwnschwangan we stopped at a pull off in the shade for lunch. The closer to the palace we saw many people paragliding around the mountains. Parked and walked up Aplseesraße (a road) to get on the bus to take us up near base of the ...

... its length. But riding through an unknown city to a destination just a few centimetres away on the map, is the stuff heart attacks and divorce are made from. To begin with our two maps didn't really join up, but John got us into the city well, which was much bigger than we anticipated. From then on we were pretty much blind. We asked a few Swiss where the Banhoff was, and with some sweeping hand gestures we headed off, luckily for us, I spotted a ...

... I remember how to do it. It will be a simple meal. Today the weather has been just beautiful, sunny and clear skies all day, with the temp about 26 degrees. As we arrived just on lunchtime to find our hotel closed till 2.00 pm, we lunched in the park and snoozed in the shade of the trees. We explored the old part of town and then found the town plaza, which was bustling with people shopping, sitting in the outside bars and cafes, and gathering on the steps of the magnificent cathedral. ...

... in farmers fields. The other strange feature here are the lakes and ponds. This region has over 1,000 of them. Black brackish holes some with boating, fishing and some with gorgeous houses built next to them. We saw an amazing one at la Mer. Two lakes and a sunken swimming pool, mill wheel and landscaped gardens. I was so in ore I forgot to get my camera out. In fact I forgot it most of the ride. It's a very relaxed and quite area of France most have forgotten about. This ...

BESANCON TO MONTBELIARD

... bicycles. However we've had enough of the bikes for today, so we have set off on foot. Well we explored MONTBELIARD, and it didn't really take very long; nice parks, nice shopping area, an old chateau, and some nice boats moored at the harbour, but that's about all. John thinks that this would be like going to Wendouree for a holiday. Still, we are really just in transit, and not every town we stop at is going to be great. We have liked most places, with DIGOIN and this ...
