    Tuesday 4th August
    We woke up in the port of City of Ajaccio, on the West side of Corsica. Birthday boy Kevin was greeted and serenaded to a happy birthday by everyone!!!! No sleeping in......time for a walk down along the boardwalk.!!!!

    Ajaccio,

    Corsica is a French island but the overriding influence seemed to be Italian in my opinion. Whilst the locals all spoke French, the food and architecture seemed more in keeping with a quaint Italian sea-side town than a French city.


    Whatever the influence, we all fell in love with the place almost instantly. I think Barcelona ...

    ... specially requested menu! Christmas in July. It was spectacular. What more can I say. The turkey was just fabulous and the chocolate fondant to follow has left me so sleepy zzzzzzz So now, off to the Grand Salon for after dinner Showtime with the Seabourn Singers and Dancers @ 9:45 Wow - came back to our room to find another dessert which apparently they had omitted to serve us at dinner!!     ... which we were warned about at breakfast. The galley was open to the passengers with different chefs being responsible for certain types of cuisine. One of the chefs welcomed me to his 'living room' which he said he loved. It certainly does appear that everyone of the crew enjoys their work. Either they do or they are well trained!     ... modern bathrooms, and the most beautiful pool on the roof top terrace that looks out to the bay and beaches, with lovely sun lounges, cane lounges and a bar. The pool is mostly outdoors but about a third of it is inside the bar, cafe area. We spent the afternoon on the beautiful sandy beach, and then set off to explore. As it was Bastille Day, and the French Foreign Legion have a base here, there was a parade of soldiers, past and present, ...
