No hurry to go ashore, must have been around 11am. Tendered in the lifeboats today. Caught the tourist bus, again excellent value for 1.5hrs, €10ea. The commentary was not very informative, brief, and hard to hear, but the sights, the BEACHES, were gorgeous. The cemetery was something else entirely, 45,000 graves - we thought it smelt too! Sort of road killish and when we came back around past it again, ...

Haute Corte. Forever in our hearts and forever grateful we will be.

The island is covered in huge mountains which overlook the city and many of these mountains were in view as we toured around the coast on the coach. The last part of this journey was on foot and ...

We awoke on this last day of the cruise to be coming in to Portoferraio! A beautiful clear day in the harbor of the Island of Elba. It is the islands largest city and because of its terrain many of its buildings are situated on the slopes of a tiny hill surrounded on three sides by the sea! Leaving the ship @ 9:30 we were surprised at the intensity of the heat. But true to form, this didn't stop us - maybe slowed us down a ...
