... br> The cheeses- particularly camembert, but also the herby Boursin, which we have found here wrapped in palma ham in little mouth sized cylinders. Wow.
Scallops St Jacques in their shell in a mornay sauce.
Large Vol au Vents, filled with mushroom and chicken, or ham.
Anyone who lived in England would know about our favourite desert- Rum Babas, with syrup coated sponge soaked in rum and with fruit on top. ...

... to get over the sill safely, we had a slow sail with just the Genoa up to Ile d'Aix, due to very little wind, we had our brekki on the way, homemade brioche made the day before and a coffee, lovely way to start our day. We decided to stop at another Aire at St. Paul de Blaye as there was electricity there at 55 mins for €2.00 to charge electronics.A small shop across the road has the jetons (tokens) for the service point and cold beer for the driver later. After all that it was onto the night stop ...

The day started well. Up at 6 and at the station by 7.25 - 20 minutes before the train was due. The station wasn't manned (and there were no toilets). By 10 to 8 we were getting worried about the next connection. Then a man came around the corner, gesturing us to follow him. The train was replaced by a bus - which took a lot longer (and didn't have a toilet).

Some lovely scenery on the 55 minute bus trip ...
