... Baker. He was on his way back from Asia to his home in New York and had an hour’s layover in Atlanta. He wanted to know if I were in the States so we could talk on the phone and catch up on the news. It’s expensive to talk on cell phones internationally, so we deferred the pleasure of a conversation. Still it's sometimes amazing how we can keep in touch with friends and family all over the world, almost instantly.

Tomorrow will be an exciting and busy day.

... Mr. Mrs. Bernal were there too, we had a very enjoyable evening, catching up on news, comparing notes about the recent convention we had in Normandy and planning for the future. French dinner can last quite a while, but several of us were tired from the day's activities so we finished the meal at around 9:00 pm, and went our separate ways; looking forward to meeting again soon.

... so I returned to the yacht for a nap and to treat my sunburn. When I woke up, I was the only non-crew on the boat, and I only saw two crew aboard, the Duty Officer, and a stewardess. I found out that most of the guests and crew were at a little club/bar in Biscarrosse. So, around midnight I joined them and had a few beers before we all returned to the yacht for the night.

... the water. You can walk around them at low tide, and ride around them on a boat at high tide.

Arcachon
We returned to the yacht for dinner and then rode the tender to the little village of Arcachon. The water front has a large promenade with a casino at its center. Unlike Las Vegas, casino’s in France have a dress code so we had dressed up before heading out.

I had a very pleasant visit and dinner with James and Odile Muir, who are very involved in the work of the Church in France and help with association work in particular. Mrs. Audoin had noticed my favorite brand of Camembert during a previous visit and had made sure to have that on the cheese platter along with a goat cheese and several others. It was all wonderful.

We visited the Dune du Pyla today, a 100m high natural sand dune on the south edge of Archachon.
There is a large car park at the base and, conveniently, steps up the side for those in high heels or carrying dogs (we saw both)

... cabin dorm rooms. This is were we met an English girl named Laura, so kind, who was touring around France on her scooter. We chilled out at our campsite all night drinking wine, Croneneburg beer ( french beer), fresh market olives and get this Tazeki chips. We chatted the night away in the forest which resulted in Robby getting in trouble by a Swedish family. Now that' s entertainment!
