Public Transport to Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa? How hard could that be we ask? Good news was that 1.It was fine and sunny, 2. It was cheap - about EUR6 each way on Metro and two buses for both of us.
Our landlord told us it was easy and the bus driver would be helpful. Hmmm. Not so much. Silent in fact. Man next to us was too helpful and buggered us us completely by telling us not to get off in Tivoli itself, hard to know really as there was ...

Today we took the drive up to Tivoli, to see both the Villa D'Este and Hadrian's Villa (he of the wall).

Hadrian first and once again, an absolutely huge site with a great view of both the mountains and the plains, as well as some superb buildings - the Romans really did know how to pick their places.

It has been a couple of crazy weeks!! They have felt like a whirlwind and like I am finally reaching the end of my roller coaster ride. Midterms were this week, and I still have one more on Monday. The semester is packed in a very short ninety days and that means a lot of information is crammed in. For the most part, I think they went pretty well. I am really looking forward to knocking my last one, Western Civilization, out of the way on Monday.
