... in to one and there were consequently stairs (marble) going up and down in many different places, getting us quite lost. But what a magical home, so beautifully renovated and decorated! And in an ancient city filled with cobbled stoned pathways twisting up and down the hill upon which it stands, alongside the mighty Rhône river.

... over the edge,!! We paddled under the Arc and onto the beach with a great sigh of relief and very wet pants. As we had got so wet on the various rapids, we decided to take a dip in the river fully clothed. We sat and had lunch whilst watching people float past. from there it was a lovely 20 min paddle down the river to the pick up point and back home for tea and medals, well we think we deserve one. P.S I have never been so scared in all my life, but Andy loved it. ...

Well for today's little adventure we decided on a canoe trip down the River Ardeche to Pont d'Arc, so off we went at 10am feeling slightly nervous as having spoken to Dan last night he had said be prepared to get thrown out of the boat a lot, ( he canoed this river a lot a few years ago and knows it well) . The guy giving the safety instructions spoke lovely Dutch but only a little English, he kept mentioning rockets which we took eventually to mean rocks! So of we went ...
