    ... of walking, thus increasing exponentially the chances of getting lost (odds are similar to winning the lottery), I caught a vaporetto (water bus) from a stop a few streets from where I live over to the Accademia, which is just a short stroll from where I needed to be.     Rather than our usual casual brekky in Lido (a smorgasbord breakfast, though not shabby - my fave has been Eggs Benedict St George ie with atlantic salmon!), we breakfasted for a change in Vista Dining Room - white-coated wait staff, an extensive menu and full silver service.     ... during those hours. One young man dressed in traditional Jewish style asked out guide if anyone on our walk was Jewish. When he found out we are Jewish he tried to convince Pierce to lay tefillin with him (pray in a traditional way).

    ... supposed to be staff there and 24 hour security and all that... And then we realized... The drunk man was the staff in charge for the night! Soo glad I didn't stay there long! What a mess!     ... waiters so service wasn't horribly fast, but we weren't in any rush and the food was decent.

    After lunch, we found the water bus station and hopped on the bus back to St. Mark's square. The bus was packed so we had to stand during the journey.
