More reasons why I need a rich husband...

... giant poster of Westley Snipes on the wall... This was also the town where I had somebody hit on me by simply pulling out a condom and thrusting it in my face... Also gross. Seriously though - the Comoros was an odd experience. Prices are out of this world and I had my first encounter with painful poverty and malnutrition. Rose and I could not figure out how people lived there, we could barely afford it ourselves. What was really interesting though is that the ...

... have it on good authority that it is large, fast, and relatively clean. Lessons learned I suppose. While the experience does cause endless amusement for Rose and I and we just look at each other and burst out laughing every now and then, it will never be repeated. If you ever want a really good story ask me about the seagull... In the mean time I will relate an entry from my journal that I think accuratly speaks to what the four days were like ...

We climb 1900 metres up and 700 back in one day!

... We assume this was comparative to the rest of the island, not the world, as we find the place pretty depressing - foreshores full of garbage, the boat harbour encumbered by a large wrecked wooden boat, the lighter barges for unloading ships offshore the roughest examples of boatbuilding that MP has ever seen, and the famous mosques pretty ordinary. From the guidebook descriptions we had been imagining another Muscat, Oman, but there ...

A la recherche des cocos fesses

Il semble que le mauvais temps nous suive. Pas grand chose à voir. Les Comores ressemblent beaucoup aux Seychelles. L'île semble très pauvre. Les gens sont gentils, mais quelque chose manque. It looks like the bad weather follows us. Not much to see. The Comores look a lot like the Seychelles. The island seems very poor. The peoples are nice but something is missing.
