    ... and diving and darting and looking magnificent. We are parked next to a camping site which also has a swimming pool (which we haven’t seen), a very odd sort of miniature golf course, a big grassy field with kids’ play equipment, and the local soccer pitch.

    ... win....nice huh. Also by putting massive resources into there and the Somme...this limited how many reserves the Germans had to react to other offensives...such as Paschendale, and Vimy. Old school tactics but now everybody had machine guns...we are talking massive slaughter sadly. Verdun was also a very important place for the French and was to be guarded with religious fervor and they would not let it fall under any circumstances.

    We had two options today, either take the early set of trains (8:30am onwards) or late (11:30am) we ended up going with the late trains and luckily made every connection! Missing proper food right now. Had breakfast at the hotel which was 10e each and pretty horrible. Luckily our metro cards still worked so we headed into the main station and onto the 1st of 5 trains. Stopped in Antwerp for lunch but only had 25 mins so got some ...

    ... hoping to spot them. I struck luck after about 10 minutes they came up the escalators. After big hugs we boarded the courtesy bus to the Hotel Campanile. But when we got there the Hotel looked different. I had a good chat with the bus driver and he pointed out to me that there were 2 Campanile Hotels at CDG Airport and we had to return to the Airport again to catch the red courtesy bus.(He must have thought silly tourists) About an hour and a ...
