... and rather like an English seaside town, except that the shops sell foccacias and pizza. Our hotel is half a block from the beach but most of the stoney beach areas require you to pay to get in. You can hire a deck chair too, if you pay. We walked to the "old" town but didn't explore very much more. John picked up a paninni for dinner and sat on the balcony and ate it. ... we ended up there after dinner, three subway lines later, for sunset. I learned two important things my first day in Europe: (1) the world is incredibly difficult to navigate without internet access & (2) Kelly & I might as well have a stamp on our forehead that says "American" Overall, I really enjoyed Milan. Getting lost multiple times ended up being a blessing in disguise. We were able to see a lot of the city in the one day we had. Onto the next tomorrow AM, Praha! ...
