    ... was the most famous product of the Basque area, to be told, very nicely, that this was Béarn and it was quite different from Basque!     ... we were just walking into Maslacq (and again enough to really need protection, even if only for 5 minutes till we got to the hotel). We arrived before 11 am!!!! So didn't expect our room to be ready, or our bags to have arrived, but as we were all wet we went in and they were SO nice.     Sadly, today was the final day of our trip and we had to say goodbye to a country we had come to adore so quickly.
