" Excusez Moi, Je Suis Australian, Je Ne Parles Pas Francias. Parles Vous Angalis?"
I ask cautiously as he is fuelling up.

"C'est va Aussie? Ohhh, yes I can help you! Do you have cash? I can put the fuel on my card and you can pay me the cash?". Oh thank you Queen of Karma, something has gone right today.

Drove pretty quickly through the pretty French countryside to Soissons which looked like the right kind of sized town to go to a local supermarket to pick up some supplies for Scandinavia which I imagined would be a lot more expensive.

Beautiful church which sits up high on the hill overlooking all below. There were thousands of steps, and people to go through and it was a hot day, but we managed it. It's a shame that along the steps there are very bad smells of urine which on a hot day are oppressive. Lots of beggars lined the steps too, which makes me sad. Everyone says ...

What looked like a few miles on the map turned into nearly six hours of driving. It would have been alot quicker if we had decided to remain on the toll road we had accidentally found ourselves on, which of course we didn't. Having not budgetted for such luxuries we went one junction up before coming off, paying the exhorbitant 14 euro charge and continuing on the national roads. A good thing to bear in mind for any fellow travellers is that any roads in europe starting with an ...
