We were aiming for the MH Aire at Laon, as we wanted to see the cathedral.
We left Migennes and went via Sens ( couldn't get a photo of the cathedral) Provins and Montmirail Then retraced our outward route to Chateau Thiery and Soissons.

Auxerre (although considered the 4th largest city in Burgundy) has only 39,000 people in the city center and 92,000 including the suburbs. It is much smaller than Dijon and has hardly any tourist traffic. The city center, however, is very charming and I look forward to exploring it further over the next few months.

Visited the12th-century castle ruins in the town. [The castle which took the name of The Chapel of Vauguillain, was built at the end of the 12th century. There is no trace of previous construction as evidenced by a sarcophagus Roman stone found by a winemaker near the old cemetery in 1850. The enclosure of the castle included the Manor House, the Chapel and a well north of the Chapel.
