... was a doorway with your private bathroom in it. So the idea was you cooked your tea in the courtyard bit, watched a bit of tele, had a shower in your bathroom bit and then slept in the caravan. Nice idea, but anyone one who's ever been in a caravan knows the worst bit about being in a caravan is trying to sleep on the **** combination of plywood and foam rubber they call a bed. We went and checked out the town and the beach. Oh dear, this was pretty much the first town you came to ...

... claim before heading to the bus terminal to buy a round-trip ticket to Nice City Center. I had done a bit of research and had figured out I needed to take the 98 bus to a stop that was a 5 minute walk from my hotel. Of course, it is dark and pouring and the bus doesn't advertise the stops very well, so I have to be extra vigilant to make sure I do not miss my stop. The airport is only 7 kilometers from the city and so it takes ...

... stage so I got Briony out of bed and we went for a walk around the city of Nice. We wandered down the main drag with all the big buildings and shops and wide footpaths. We found a place that had all sorts of Macaroons and bought ourselves a couple and head to a nearby bakery and got ourselves some breaklunch. Lunch was eaten on the raised walkway above the rocky beach and we just sat there in the sun and people watched while eating.

The heat started to drain us so we set off to ...
