    ... we reluctantly headed back to the van and off towards the Verdon. An easy drive initially until reaching Mansque then a steep climb with amazing views to Moustiers-St.Marie quite a hair-raising drive in "the flash" with lots of narrow sections and precipitous drops into the abyss on the drivers side.     The day was a series of short climbs and short descents - short being 3 to 5 km - when you are living at the foothills of the Alps, that is "short".
