... boys jumped overboard for a swim. We enjoyed our snacks onboard and after captain Caleb and skipper Simon finally got us back to shore we made our way back to the winding roads home to Frejus. We made our way to the local supermarket to get supplies for our braai the French way. Not much different to SA, only they use charcoal instead of wood, although we did see some using wood. ... the ravine that runs through the village. We had a great time wandering through the shops and cafes, though the faience shops are so crammed with stock we were a bit nervous about breaking something. The gorge is absolutely fabulous! On the morning we took off to drive up the gorge we copped an intense thunderstorm complete with a deluge, extremely heavy rain, so intense we had to pull over and ...

... at our awful attempts at communication. We camped pretty much at the lay-bys at the "Belvoirs" which which climbing absails mostly start, and on a nightly basis enjoyed cooking for 4 outdoors, with Graham and Mike bivvying in a shelted created by our van and their hire car - probably won't get away with that in the tourist season! All in all, we got a little glimpse of Verdon which, at least climbing wise, has more to offer than a person can possibly climb in a life ...
