... Marianne again. At 2.30 we jumped on the train for Beaune, back into France. Our B&B was comfy and central, just a short walk to the centre. Beaune is a pretty, walled town with lovely old houses and winding streets. What I really mean are the Burgundian deviations, as we deviated off the Euro Vélo route for a little sojourn in wine country.

Fortunately, the rain mostly fell on our campsite during the night, so we were able to get packed up for our cycle to Beaune. Beaune is a town to the north of Chagny that we had heard a lot about. The day looked like it would remain overcast and we hoped for the best.
