    Magnificent Milano

    ... They were everywhere. In fact I tripped on a couple so desperate they were to eat their crumbs they don't move out of the way very fast.

    It was late afternoon by this stage and we needed to get to Verona to check in to the next hotel. So we retraced our steps to the Metro, and found our car exactly where we had left it - wheels all in tact, no graffiti and no traffic tickets - woohoo!

    A short 90 minute drive and we were in the fair city ...

    A week has gone by so quicky, and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here, especially after 5 weeks apart. Renting a runabout boat, Anne's idea, transformed the trip and has been fantastic, crusing around at our own pace and agenda.

    ... afternoon, Nathan, Tilly and I, had our first of what I hope will be many excursions into Milan. We took the bus from near our apartment to a metro stop and then the metro to the Duomo. It was pretty surreal to climb the stairs out of an underground train station see the enormous cathedral gradually emerge, step by step. We wandered around the shops and I took them to "Panzerotti Luini" which was as amazing as the first time and slightly less busy! Then we went for Nathan ...

    ... I drop around to the air b&b place I stayed which was nearby and picked up an iphone cable I'd left behind that was there great! That's a win Set out for my last evenings abode a 4 star hotel at malpensar about 30 km outside Milano near the airport so not too many issues to return my Italian sports car and get on a plane home The hotel is the cheapest yet most modern I've stayed at I guess it's out of the way and there is a lot of competition for hotel space near the ...

    ... in a tree close to the van. Yeay!! 17th June. Another scorcher today and we both made it in to the sea, which was like bath water, it has to be for me to go anywhere near it. Not much else to report as we are having a rest day before moving off to Venice in the morning. Ei checked the weather forecast and some days it is going to feel like it is 40 degrees, so not really looking forward to that. 18th June. Left the site by 09:30 to head towards Venice.
