... the rain set in quite heavily. Close to Milan we turned north - heading towards the Swiss border via the Aprica Pass (1,176m), which turned out to be a very nice but very demanding, windy, narrow road with lots of switch backs. The drive was not made any easier by having to avoid a great many (very serious) cyclists using the pass for strength training, and crazy Italian drivers who like to straddle the middle line - there were a few hair raising occasions with ...

... it was quickly followed by a rise of about 4m so this made the skiing a bit unpredictable. The actual snow conditions were very good with well groomed and slightly hard snow making the actual turns easy. The food was actually quite good and it was nice to just walk upstairs after while the rain raged ...

Another Swiss mountain town. This one is in the valley, basically at the bottom of our previous town. Still very beautiful, and about 1000 meters into the mountains. As soon as we got down the mountain, there was a noticeable change in the smell of the air! What a difference no cars can make!! And how amazing that we breathe that in everyday, and that is 'normal'! Before we left gimmelwald we bought alp-cheese from an unmanned, on-your-honour cheese fridge ...

... was going I met a friends and we thought we will hire one together and ride around town and try and make it up the mountain again hahaha. As soon as we hired the bikes it started pouring rain again grrrr….but it was still warm. We ended up returning the bikes and getting a refund.

We both then decided to go grab some coffee and chill out for a little while. After coffee we met some of the BASE jumpers and some other friends we made along the ...
