First Day In France (Nice, Miramar)

6:30 am flight out of Lax. It wasn't even worth sleeping since we had to leave at 4 am to get our flight. Got off a little later then planned but since it was so early the airport was dead. We got breakfast and boarded without issues. We (my boyfriend Steve and I)watched movies and did our best to stay awake to help get on European time. Got into JFK had lunch and stocked up on reeses peanut butter cups, tolberone(me) and skittles(him). Unfortunately the flight was delayed due to the right wi...

Monte Carlo, an unbelievable place

Monaco was unbelievable. I was awestruck most of the time by the fact that I was actually in Monte Carlo! Immaculate streets and gardens/parks, very clean. Designer labels and fashionable people everywhere. So small in area that every available inch of land is consumed, but still so much traffic. Amazing hills and views. The selection of photos show it best than I could describe - i took heaps of pics, so these are just a selection, but still a lot ...

Nice was nice

... the most beautiful boats in the world are in MonteCarlo...

Language is more interesting in france. If we try to do the simple tourist things then most people can work out what is going on but when we try something else eg. going to the doctor (sue has been sick) going to a chemist.. or finding a Laundamatt.. then the language thiig is a bit more animated....

have some grat pics of Nice and French Rivierra to show when we get home...

I'm in Monte Carlo baby!

Well, I am writing this entry from Switzerland. Sitting at the Geneva airport. My flight from Barcelona to Geneva (to connect onto a flight to Nice) was delayed and then delayed again which meant I missed my connecting flight. Was originally angry about this cause I have lost a day of travel time, but it has given me the opportunity to sort some photos and begin my Monte Carlo relax period. Was fortunate that there was a later flight with seats available and that ...

Long Long beach

... was really pretty. Loads of lovely restaurants that we just drooled out... and went back to the van to eat pasta and tuna.. again :)

The last beach day - so we thought was nice. The beach is long and sandy but it got rough and windy and a bit cooler later in the day so we called it quits.. sadly.... oh dear....

The most amazing cars ever

... the morning shift I ran to the railway station. The return ticket to Monte Carlo was only 5 Euros, and the journey last 15-20 minutes. The views were gorgeous, but the best one was the old town of Monte Carlo and it`s cars. Jeeez! Amazing! Moreover, they would stop in order to let you pass through - before you even got to zebra. I had a very limited time, but the things I saw there made me convinced it was not my last time in Monaco.

A day of reflection…

... 8217;t go further, and been surprised at the quality and the taste of the foods. Only problem is, leather only stretches so far!!!

Lane splitting and moped riders from hell…Mopeds everywhere, and no wonder with the cost of fuel. These riders weave in and out of traffic between cars in a way that makes me think I drive like an old woman. Connie and I are usually riding staggered formation and the Moped ...

A swim at Cannes

Decided on another 'rest' day today, as the campsite was nice. Headed down to the coast at Cannes and swam at the beach amongst all the 'film stars'. Weather was hot and the water warm. A few big yachts moored off the coast. Then back to camp for a lazy afternoon by the pool.

St Paul de Vence my last perched village!

... who built the house even had it featured in his book on this style housing which he has created. Overall this holiday has been my favorite so far next to Egypt. The perfect mix of adventure- who can forget the round the world adventures of Petit Bleu (Kats Nivea sunscreen which we nicknamed because of his blue coloring) which was not allowed in Kats carry on at Basel airport at the beginning of our trip, so she checked it into a plastic bag at Basel airport. However it ...
