... The furniture, paintings, tapestries, chandeliers and furnishings items in the palace were looted and smashed, and the palace’s doors and windows were demolished. In 1793, the remnants of art and furniture of the palace was all shipped to Louvre. In the next 40 years, Versailles was reduced to and remained as rubbles. Just visited a quaint medieval town that was just too cute for words!! Finished the day with the show at St.Chappelle. This is a usual haunt of ours. A baroque evening with 1 violin, 1 recorder and a harpsichord playing a number of pieces in the most magnificent setting - the St.Chappelle church.

    Good bye Paris....be back soon.

We came back to our apartment to have lunch, then we went out to the sewers. The sewers were all about where our poos and wees go. I said to mum "hey I can see my poo floating down from the morning", "yeah right" ...

... with the old friends I grew up with like Picasso and Chagall. But I also discovered a few new artists like Kandinsky and Calder. I never knew how many times I had walked by a Calder sculpture in Chicago thinking it was Picasso.

As we completed walking through the museum, we completed our visit by walking outside from the top floor. It was only 5 flights up but the view was pretty spectacular. From where we ...
