After getting use to the sound of hoot owls in the night we slept in until 8:00am this morning. We awoke to a low cloud level and cool temperatures but the promise of a sunny day lay ahead. After a pot of coffee (loved that after a month of espressos) and a light breakfast, we took a walk through the village of Noves.

Noves is is a very small village with only a few hundred inhabitants. At one time there were ramparts around the town but only a few remain along with a few ...

    Day 71 - Provence Provincial

... was a travel day, it also became a laundry day. It took a couple of hours to get caught up but we succeeded. Next it was off to Avignon supermarket for groceries for the week. We returned about 5:00 and settled in for the night. We lit a fire in the fireplace as the temperature in the old stone cottage was a bit cool. The fire, some jazz and some Côte de Rhine wine made for a lovely evening.

Once in a Nimes we headed for a car park close to the Maison Square, but I detour when I see ...

... then I open my mouth to speak and I sound like a bogan at the bus mall with food in my mouth. But I am trying. Actually everytime we go to Avignon we get to practice our French with the lady's voice that announces the next stop, like "prochain arret Gendamerie" or pronounced "pro chen arre shon da merry". Our French may get there thanks to the Avignon to Pont Saint Esprit bus service.

It has been nearly three weeks and the lapsed time since I last ...
