After getting use to the sound of hoot owls in the night we slept in until 8:00am this morning. We awoke to a low cloud level and cool temperatures but the promise of a sunny day lay ahead. After a pot of coffee (loved that after a month of espressos) and a light breakfast, we took a walk through the village of Noves.

... was a travel day, it also became a laundry day. It took a couple of hours to get caught up but we succeeded. Next it was off to Avignon supermarket for groceries for the week. We returned about 5:00 and settled in for the night. We lit a fire in the fireplace as the temperature in the old stone cottage was a bit cool. The fire, some jazz and some Côte de Rhine wine made for a lovely evening.
... on our tour. I am now feeling much more confident with the motorways, so when the GPS asks if we wish to avoid them I confidently say "bring them on baby!". The trip to Nimes was mostly uneventful with only one mad frenchie trying to run us off the road. The traffic actually seems quite good for a Friday morning before a holiday weekend - but maybe Easter is not such a big travel weekend here. ... are back at our hotel, relaxing on the patio and enjoying refreshing bottled water(me) and Heineken(Les). Tomorrow we drop the rental car off and take the TGV to Paris and fly home on Friday.

... then I open my mouth to speak and I sound like a bogan at the bus mall with food in my mouth. But I am trying. Actually everytime we go to Avignon we get to practice our French with the lady's voice that announces the next stop, like "prochain arret Gendamerie" or pronounced "pro chen arre shon da merry". Our French may get there thanks to the Avignon to Pont Saint Esprit bus service.
