The Puy de Dome district is an area of extinct volcanoes in the southern part of France. We stayed at a village perched on the side of a rocky steep hillside called Saint Nectaire. It is famous for its certain types of cheese and they had a cheese shop there to try it.

Monday morning we packed up leisurely in preparation for our next transfer of just over 200 miles. After the first 20 miles we joined the motorway network which took us almost to our next stop - Camping Le Clos Auroy at Orcet, south of Clermont Ferrand - in the area of the Auvergne, famed for its extinct volcanoes. ... We went into the village to get bread. The boulangerie was closed, but the assistant in the convenience store told us to go to the butchers!!!!! Yes! They did have bread.
